Looking Towards ASEAN community 2015: Constraints, Obstacles and Opportunities

21 April 2011 - Institute of Asian Studies, Chulalongkorn University, in conjunction with Siam Intelligence Unit (SIU) organized an international seminar “Looking Towards ASEAN community 2015: Constraints, Obstacles and Opportunities” at Maha Chulalongkorn Building, Chulalongkorn University.


The event was opened by Professor Dr. Kua Wongboonsin, Vice President, Chulalongkorn University and Dr. Pimrapaat Dusadeeisarayakul, Program Manager, Friedrich Naumann Foundation.


Professor Dr. Surakiat Satienthai, Former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs gave his keynote speech from his ASEAN experience.


Then followed by the international discussion by 4 speakers from each ASEAN nations:


  • Mr. Ong Keng Yong : Ambassador-At-Large, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Singapore

  • Ms. Ng Yeen Seen: Senior Director, Policy, Research & Programmes Asian Strategy & Leadership Institute (ASLI) and Directior, Centre for Public Policy Studies (CPPS), MalaysiaAssoc.

  • Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh: Dean, International Studies Department, University of Social Science Humanities, Vietnam National University

  • Mr. Suranand Vejjajiva: Political Analyst and Former Minister of the Prime Minister’s Office

  • Moderator : Captain Dr. Yongyuth Maiyalap
